Sokoto Ministry of Budget & Economic Planning Partners CSJ on Healthcare Funding

Centre for Social Justice and her CSO Colleagues in Sokoto State have paid an advocacy visit to the leadership of the Sokoto State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.

The objective of the visit is to present the Organisation’s recommendations into the 2023 State Health Budget. These recommendations are aptly captured in the Sokoto State 2023 Pre Health Budget Memo.

The visit is an activity under the State2State USAID Project which seeks to improve Universal Health Coverage in the State via advocacy for improved funding, capacity building of stakeholders and core budget engagements.

The CSJ (& the CSO partners) delegation was led by Mr. Fidelis Onyejegbu, the Programme Manager Public Finance Management, who presented the group’s request to the leadership of the Ministry.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alh. Usman Bodinga, appreciated the organisation for her inputs into the process and stated that the Ministry would consider the recommendations. He also pledged the Ministry’s willingness to work with the Organisation on issues relating to its mandate
