CSJ Seeks Collaboration of SOCHEMA, SSPHCDA In Achieving Universal Health Coverage

Centre for Social Justice and her CSO Colleagues in Sokoto State have paid an advocacy visit to the leadership of Sokoto State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (SOCHEMA) and the Sokoto State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SSPHCDA).

The objective of the visits is to present the Organisation’s recommendations on strategies for improving the Health Insurance Scheme in Sokoto State.

The visits are part of activities under the State2State USAID Project which seeks to improve Universal Health Coverage in the State via advocacy for improved funding, capacity building of Stakeholders, and core budget engagements.

CSJ (& the CSO partners) delegation was led by Mr. Fidelis Onyejegbu, the Programme Manager Public Finance Management, who presented the group’s submission to the Agency.

The Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on SOCHEMA, Dr. Amamatu  Yusuf, who  alongside other Directors of the Agency received the delegation,  commended the group’s effort and noted that the Agency’s doors would always be open to the Organisation and any other non-state actors that wishes to aid in the actualisation of its mandate.

Earlier today, Centre for Social Justice and her CSO partners continued the advocacy on Improving Health Insurance Scheme in Sokoto State.

The visit today (17th August,22) was to the Sokoto State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SSPHCDA). The objective of the visit is to present the Organisation’s recommendations on strategies for improving health insurance schemes in the State which are geared towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.

The Permanent Secretary of the Agency, Alhaji Adamu Romo, together with some department heads of the Agency, received the delegation and pledged to consider the submissions of the delegation and work out best possible ways to achieve the desired results.

In the end, the Agency also assured of its disposition to work with CSOs such as Centre for Social Justice towards the actualisation of its mandate.
